For SSN, check out

For your passport, check out with your own country's
consulate/embassy.

Since all these documents depend upon each other
for ID purpose, if you lost all of them, you may have
trouble starting. Hope you still have your driver's license
by hand.

It is a good idea to wear a jacket with some very secured pockets
rather than to put all immortant documents into some bags which
can be easily detached from yourself

It is also a good idea to always leave a ID at home.
In many states, you can get a state photo ID (non-driver's license) even if you already have a DL. Get a state photo ID and
stash it soemwhere as a ultimate backup

Thanx.I undestand that these are the most important documents and should be kept with utmost care but you know if there are more than one people accessing the documents this could happen.Thanx once again for your help.

carrying gc

I do understand that the law says "You must carry your gc all the time"

What is the penalty for not doing so ?

And have people been checked for GC ?

If You are travelling within the USA is a valid Driver License not enough ?

The maximum penalty is $100 and 30 day in jail.
But if you are convicted, you have a criminal record
and may not be eligible for citizenship.
