Lost I94 - Exit US?

I lost my passport which included my L1 visa and I94w. I am scheduled to leave US on 11/3 to obtain a replacement visa from the US Embassy in London. I requested a replacement I94 through form 101 in October and when I checked the status through www.uscis.gov was informed they were only processing applications from June. Can I still exit US and enter my flight on Continental using my I797 ackowledgement then submit my replacement I94 when I return and it is processed.
Thanks

When you re-enter the US from the UK, present your approval notice and your new passport and visa stamp. You will be issued a new I-94. At that point your old I-94 has become invalid and is of no concern to you. There is no need to apply seperately for a replacement I-94.
