I sent my I-751 application in April 1st...and ever since, I haven't received anything from Vermont Service Center. I've already came for an Infopass appointment to get my passport stamped. It turned out even the local office couldn't tell whether VSC had sent out my notice yet or not...They put a service request for my biometric because my appointment in the system showed to be on May 6th... and obviously, since I didn't receive anything, I missed the date....
My questions are:
1) What could be the reasons for mail being lost? I know this is kinda silly question, but I'm really worried that the latter letters from USCIS would be lost too...I checked the address with USCIS so many times to make sure it was right...but could it be something going on at the post office instead? i'm utterly confused right now with all the lost mails...I still received other mails, e.g. bank statements, bills, etc fine at my address...
2) The 2nd biometric notice won't show up in my mail until sometime by the end of May. They told me the fingerprint place does accept walk-in but what are the real chances for me to do a walk-in for biometric? Will that be accepted without the letter? And does that mean I don't have to redo the biometric once the letter comes?
