Losing PR Status - Please Advice

I am in US on a H1B and I may have to give up PR status for not having the adequate time in Canada.

Does anyone have any experience on how this is accomplished?

Also so far I have not needed a US visa stamp in passport given the commonwealth citizen status? Will there be a problem getting US visa stampled if I give up Canadian PR status.

What about getting a Canadian tourist visa after that?

I would appreciate any help in this regard

I hope you have a US GC lined up for your future unless you are planning on leaving the US permanently.

Nope, US may not give you any trouble with a visa as long as you can prove your legal status in the US.

Canada may question you before they may issue a visitor visa.

Hi Bobby,

I think its worth of having canadian PR with things going on in USA. I better advice you keep it your canadian residency. If you have options, move to windsor IN Canada and commute to USA from canada. I'm thinking things are not going well with US especially economy growning down and unemployment growing up to 6%. They are making strict with H1(s) too. Dont give up canadian residency with the sake of H1. You can be out of canada 2 yrs out of 5 yrs.

Bye,
raj
