I am current a Sales Manager with a company with an office in Chicago under an L1A visa. I have been with the US company for 2 years, the Canadian subsidiary for 4 years before that.
The company has decided to move their office to New York and offered me a package to move with them.
We are unsure of where we want to go.
We'd like to investigate the option of staying in Chicago but I am not certain if this is feasible.
I do not think I'm eligible for a TN visa. Is this accurate?
How easy/difficult would it be to join a new company in the US and secure and H visa?
Does my current employer have any obligation to cover the costs to send me and my family back to Canada should we not accept their offer to move to New York?
Are there any other options we should consider?
