I have a valid L1 visa (going through April) from Company A. Company A got bought by Company B and I got my visa status changed to a H1B through Company B. But, I never had a chance to get out of the country and hence never needed a H1B visa (my wife has already changed to a H4 based on this approval though).
I want to travel to Canada (tourism) in the month of May and was wondering of my chances of getting the visa (L1 -> H1B first time) stamping. I have had H1Bs from other companies before and have no gaps in my status validity. I have a Masters from a accredited US university.
Questions:
1) Can I apply for a visa stamping in Toronto? Or do I need to go to India to get this taken care of?
2) Do I have at least an average chance of getting the visa?
