Hi longman,

Where did you get your passport stamped? And where is your message
describing your experience while entering on AP? I want to post
the article to the webpage but could not locate it. Did you delete
it?

Hi Ciba,

We got our passport stamped at Sanjose INS.

Here is our experience regarding stamping at SJC INS on May 23, 2001:
---------------------------------------------------------------------

We went there aound 5:30am. There is a long queue. Gates were opened at 7am, and Q started moving. Around 9:30 am, we got inside and recvd a token numbers 183 and 184. On the token they have printed expected waiting time as 4:30 hrs. Initially the processing of tokens was slow, after lunch time it was little bit fast. We got our tokens processed around 2:40pm. The passport stamping process took only about 3minutes. They took our 485 approval notice, latest I-94, AP and EAD. I saw, some of the officers were looking at the I-94 notices of H1-B. Eventhough they didn\'t ask me H1-b papers, I suggest anybody going for stamping should take it along. Finally we got our passport(s) stamped. On that day, sanjose office processed around 210 tokens.

Our experience regarding entry into USA using AP:
-------------------------------------------------

We were asked to stay in queue that was meant for non-immigrants. At the counter, INS officer looked at the passport and other papers and sked us to proceed to "Secondary INS". This was located at the right corner inside a room. There were two officers processing these kind of cases. We were asked to submit the passport and AP to the officer. he asked few questions like - To whom you are working ? How long you were out of US ?, after that he asked us to sit there. Mean the time seems to be he verified few things in his computer and asked us to collect our passport, I-94 and AP.

- longman.
