Long waiting period ?

Hi,

got married with my wife (US citizen) on July 2006, filed the papers on October 6th 2006, had our interview on December 2006 and since then I'm still waiting for my GC. Case is still pending when I check uscis website. I inquired through phone in September 20076 and received a ltter from the local uscis L.A office that my case was still pending waiting for my background check to clear ( I'm French citizen btw).
I feel it's taking quite a long time and my lawyer seems to think it's normal.

anybody else files an I-485 in October 06 and still waiting ?

Search for "fbi namecheck" and you will find that there is plenty of people in your situation.

thanks. I was reading one of the threads..seems that the name check thing is what is taking forever..
