Local Office Transfer for Interview - My Woes at Atlanta (ADO) continues..

There is yet no reprieve for me from Atlanta District Office (ADO). I had filed for my EAD renewal (4th EAD), which got transferred from Texas Service Center (TSC) to ADO, a fortnight ago and likewise my AP renewal (4th AP) got transferred too a couple of days ago. So, I now have 3 interviews slated at ADO. My original I-485 was transferred to ADO in December 2003 with my RD being 08/2002.

If you are counting on Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss's help on any woes with ADO you can pretty much discount on that theory as his liaison at Macon hardly does any follow-up to pursue the matter.

I have taken up my cause personally and will keep you posted if I should find anything.

:)

I can understand your plight

Poong,

I hope that ADO approves your case soon. They have been utterly unfair to you. My wishes are with you and your family.

Well my personal experience with the Senator is that they took over amonth to follow up. But they contacted the parties involved, FBI and USCIS. So maybe you have to wait a little longer.

Thanks a lot for your wishes, folks. Hope all are doing fine.

kerberos72: I did get some quick responses from Saxby's office as I used to stay in touch with his office on other issues ranging from Social-Justice issues to new legislative issues in the US Congress. So, I was feeling good. But then those two responses were more like "yeah, his case was transferred in December 2003, but now ADO is almost crossing his date and he may be called for interview anytime soon," as though I didn't know that crap in the past 8 months :) So, his contact-person in Macon is the one who is non-chalant towards immigration follow-ups. However, the official business mail I get from Washington DC is pretty courteous and reassuring. Let's see.

Last time, when my AP was transferred to ADO, they silently approved it without calling for interview, when I notified them that the processing dates for AP had crossed.

Hi, Poong:

Sorry to hear your story. My case is similar to yours. I faxed TSC, contacted local congressman, also sent letters to ADO. I don't know which one worked, but I got 2 nd FP notice and interview letter early this month.

I received my Interview Letter from ADO

Thanks a lot friends, for your wishes and support.

I finally, got my interview letter from ADO. The interview is slated for April 22, 2005. The required documents list is from the standard boiler-plate and it asks for medicals. I had already sent my medicals. Should I redo it?

This is the greatest news of the century! I'm so glad you finally got the notice. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

They already have your medicals. You don't have to redo them. This is what my lawyer told me when I went for my interview. You only need to bring what they don't have, or what has changed since you applied (ie your original documents like I-94, all passports, EAD, AP, a new EVL, paystubs, 3 tax returns, etc)

are you going to take a lawyer with you to the interview? Personally I recommend it.

Thanks a lot, friend. Yes, I am planning to take my attorney, even though my office attorney is not in Atlanta region. Either I will make him fly to Atlanta or I will have to get a local attorney.

Congrats Poong

Very happy to see that your interview has been scheduled. Its just a matter of a few weeks now.

BTW, my 140 got approved a few days ago. I am halfway there now.

Good luck with the interview.

saras76,
This is great news too!!!! Glad to see your case is finally moving through the correct channels.

If I see any more good news for cases that had so many troubles in the past, I think I'll explode from glee! :D

BAM!

saras76: Thanks and wish you good luck too.

Regarding Medicals, my attorney advises me that I redo it one more time as he says that Medicals are invalid after a year. The last time I did my medicals, the world had 240 million people less!!

I don't think so. He belongs to the VSC service zone so at the most he might have represented his clientele in areas of North East. If he comes to ADO, it will be his first, I guess.

Thanks friend. But the memo clearly talks about concurrently filed I-485 petitions and not about all generic pending I-485 applications though. Any comments?

poongunranar,
It concerns me a little that your lawyer has never been on an employment based interview in Atlanta. This may be why he is telling you to redo the medicals. For lack of his experience with this local office, he would prefer to err on the safe side, since he has read that they expire after a certain period, although in practice this expiry does not seem to be enforced. More experience could have taught him there really is no need for you to redo them. He is doing this to make sure that your case has absolutely no reason to get delayed anymore, although I believe this step is overkill on his part.

Thanks a lot for your candid input. I will discuss these issues with my HR. Thanks a lot for your opinions. They really do help.
