Folks, As I mentioned earlier I was at the Dallas immigration office this afternoon. I was more than surprised to come across such a nice IO. He was a hispanic male & was very polite. listened to my story very patiently & had my bio there on spot. He asked me for two photos but I didn't have it handy so gave me a slip & informed me that there are couple of photo places by the immigration office. He told me when you come back just show that slip to the security officer & they'll let you in again without no trouble.
I did exactly as he said. He took those photos & the original 485 approval notice & said he's going to mail those to ASC since last four attempts simply failed. So it's kind of doing things manually rather than electronic. As a matter of fact that's exactly what I was asking for.
Another surprising thing is when I asked him about Passport stamping. He simply said he sure can do so but he needs to check my background before that. I thought man that's going to take ages but I was highly surprised he just did something in his computer & said you are fine & stamped my Passport.
I asked him can this stamp work if I want to go out of USA? His answer was this stamp is just like GC but it's good for an year but GC would be arriving soon. If nothing for another 90 days make another info pass & find out. But I belive it will work this time.
I'm so happy today now I have my passport stamped & Bio is done so hopefully I'll get GC soon.

Atique,

I am glad to hear that your appiontment with the local office went so well and got your temporay stamping on your passport.

This Guy (Atique Rahman) is a Joke & a liar. He is misleading every body with untrue stories.
Biometric is like sending emails (fast , easy, convenient). If you are a computer expert like me, you would understand. I worked in the set up of Biometric computer, it just takes a second to reach its destination. the ASC officer will get a clear message as what the Bio went through, before you release.

Please, let us be more serious and stop the misleading.

peace

Mr. computer geek, trust me I have been going through all these for the last 4 & half months. And why should I be misleading others to begin with?
This entire forum is to share each others problems/experiences/thoughts etc.
Please respect that. Being a new member you probably have lot more things to learn from this forum.
You being a computer expert don't think you are an ASC/USCIS expert.
I agree with you 100% that Bio is just like E-mail & it's definitely going somewhere but unfortunately in my case it's not going to the right place.
IO at the local office replied the same way.
Please don't attack people like this by saying me a liar. Once again we members in this forum are not for fighting with each other but to be more sympathetic & helpful by sharing our thoughts & experiences.
If you don't accept this fact atleast don't respond to my threads. Cause I sure have much more loving & caring friends that I've gathered in this valuable forum since last year.
Wish you the best.

Thanks for your reply. You know dealing with immigration all these years I found that 90% or I would say even more completely depends on those IO's in USCIS. If you are lucky & find a good helpful IO, things could be a whole lot different. Atleast that's what the feeling I sure got this afternoon at the local office.
Most of the times those IO's don't even treat us as human rather trash. But I must say there are some exceptions.
Well, I am not completely out of misery yet & I can't say that before receiving the plastic but I can definitely say now that I have my passport stamped for a whole year & I can travel outside the country freely that's really a wonderful feeling. A feeling of freedom.

Atique,
You are such a nice person. When they talk crap without even knowing you, no bother don't even answer.
I am happy for you man,I dont know where is this going and what the deal is with these people, but atleast you got something, the plastic will be there sooner is better. Enjoy your holiday. Keep us updated from the rest of processing.

Nas

Thanks Nasr. Yes, now that I got my passport stamped it's surely a wonderful feeling. When I was at the local office I kept thinking of requesting the IO two things. First I'll request the IO if he/she can arrange a bio at the local office ( Since last four attempts at ASC failed) & secondly if I could get my pasport stamped. But for the second request I kept remembering your experience & how the IO refused to do so when you were there.
About the fisrt request I was kind of positive since before I was there I called the Senators office requesting them to call the local office & do that on my behalf & Senator's staff did call the local office & did that therefore I didn't even have to bring that to the IO rather IO offered me that. What a surprise!!! About the passport stamping I thought let me take a chance & the moment I requested that IO says that's no problem at all.
I was thinking so many people in this forum that I could remember were refused previously with the answer from IO that they don't do that no more & on our approval notice it is not mentioned no where to get that done at the local office. But guess what as I said IO's surely makes a big difference.
Nasr, I'll keep you all posted & thanks a bunch for being by my side at this crutial time. You all are wonderful & that's the beauty of this forum.

I have the similar great experience with Img Off here in Dallas

this is a great place I wish that all IO work like people work here @ DALLAS OFFICE

So happy for you...

Atique,
I'm very happy for you and I truly believe that your misery has ended. Since you got your passport stamped, could you tell us when did you renew your passport? Did I/O question you at all as to why you have a passport?

Thanks PM. I renewed my passport back in 2003 without no trouble from the consulate office in Washington. They didn't even ask me nothing about my current status. As far I know some countries that I know are very concern regarding their citizens status in US & they create problems for us asylees.
And in the local office not a single question asked about it.
You know, we hear lot of experiences from different people about immigration matters & that's all because of the IO you are dealing with. If you are lucky & find a good one you are far better off than others come across the opposite type you know what I mean.
I guess this was the first time I've met such a nice IO who was very helpful & the best part was he was willing to listen to my problem which is very surprising cause usually IO's always act they are very busy & few even try to solve that in the first place. Guess people make difference ha.

Atique,

Glad you solved it. With USCIS, only persistence pays off.

Thanks brother. But I was thinking since IO in Dallas local office took my original approval letter ( I asked him twice about the original copy but he said he only needs the original) along with the bio that he captured there ( although I have copies of that & he also gave me a copy) & when I asked him where are you going to mail that? He said at the ASC Ft.Worth place where I have been for the last four times & you all know the result :D :D .
I thought IO should me mailing that to NSC but do you have any idea why he's going to send it to ASC? So what's the process he's gonna send that to ASC & ASC will again send that to NSC for card production? What's your opinion about this?
But the best thing is I got my passport stamped & it's good for another year. But if I still don't get my GC before that expiry date than what's going to happen? Will I be getting another stamp ? Hopefully I'll be getting GC way before that. IO told me if nothing happen next 60 days make another info-pass & see an IO at Dallas office.
Want, I know you must be thinking what's wrong with this guy? But trust me brother with all these weird experiences I am too shaky. Hope I'll get over from this as soon I get my GC in hand.
