Lleaving emploer 3 montsh after I-485 approval

I am planning to quit my employer 3 months after my I-485 approval i.e in July 2005 and join a new company.The reason is that I would be coming on bench in July and my employer pays me half salary on bench.So I hope this reason would be sufficient enough to leave my employer to justify 5 yrs down the line when I go for US citizenship.
Also I hope my GC wont be affected by this decision of mine.

You got GC approved within 3 months after 485!!!! You are luckiest person.

do you have anything in written that say that half salary will be paid while you are on bench? Even if you have, if the rule has changed after you get your GC, then you will be safe during citizenship process. If this rule was in place prior to your approval, then a question may arise during citizenship process. "Why didn't you change your employer before?"
