Documents to be sent consulate

Are there any documents to be sent in advance to the Chennai consulate for a visitor visa? Or should all the forms and documents - both sponsor's and visitor's - be carried in person to the consulate on the day of the interview?

The interview appointment has been scheduled, and the appointment confirmation did not specify any documents to be sent in advance.

When did u schedule an appointment and when did the consulate give u the dates? Do we have to schedule for appointment online? Can I do it from here even though my Mother is in India?

You can make online appointment using the following link:

For interview in English, dates are easily available during the next 3-4 weeks in Chennai. You can make the appointment from the U.S. for the person in India, but have all the particulars exactly right - passport number, date/place of issuance, address, date of birth etc., Also, the confirmation has to be printed and sent to the person in India for them to take it to the consulate on the day of the interview. The confirmation # is also needed if you want to reschedule the interview.
