Liklihood of an interview?

I am in the Oceania region as I am Australian.

My number is about 1250, going by the last 4 numbers of my case number.

The visa bulletin for April shows Oceania doing numbers up to 1000.

I have not heard anything for May which doesn't mean anything, although some people have.

I was unable to find how many visa go to Oceania in general, but it seems only 900 go to Australia.

With my number being about 1250 and Oceania being up to 1000 for April, is it likely I will get an interview before September?

Or is it too hard to even guess at this point?

Oceania is 1150 for May so I would guess. June - July

You have in other thread visa bulletin for May.

Visa bulletin predictions :)

How? The Visa Bulletin for April was only released today. How are you at May already?

I've been following the other thread, which is where I had the link to the April bulletin. I have heard nothing for May.

Visa bulletin is for April but you have early call for May in that bulletin

There were 900 winners from Australia but I more than that amount of visa's will be issued to Australians. When I had my interview back in October there was a family of 4 there for example so that's 1 of the 900 winners but 4 visa's issued obviously. I think you will definitely get an interview just not sure when. One thing I can suggest is looking at Visa bulletins from previous years to get an idea of what month your number will be in status. Best of luck and sorry to hear of such a long wait

I'm just worried that 900 might have been given away already...I mean in Oceania there are about 1100 visas that go to countries other than Australia....or are they not competing with each other? What is the distribution of countries each time the numbers move in a visa bulletin?

Everyone that is in the Oceania region "competes" with each other for the pool of visas issued, so the Visa allocation is being slowly exhausted by every nation in that region. (Even the Kiwis!)

What I mean is how ares Oceania visas distributed to the different countries each month?

past dv oceania

if you actually look carefully - the only reason it goes to 900 is because that was as many as were given case numbers - then once it goes past 900 it also says current - which means all numbers valid!

Statistically i think you need not worry. the highest usage of Visas in Oceania was 831 in 2006 and till date the total number of visas issued has never crossed the 55,000 limit.
It is my believe That you will get a interview and a shot of the visa for sure. my 2 cents

There's never been a year when DV numbers even came close to running out, so there's no doubt you will get the green card if you're eligible. Your high case number isn't to your disadvantage except for the fact that it means you have to wait longer than others. I know the tension of waiting is stressful but just put it out of your mind and think about where you're going to live!
