We know of one Approval case of LIFE Act/ CSS/ LULAC in San Jose Office. Anyone else in any other office if got approved, please post details and procedures ifany.

LIFE ACT GREEN CARD APPROVED
This is on behalf of a relative who got his GREEN CARD Approved through LIFE ACT.

I was one of the lucky persons to get Green Card through Life Act on June 4th 2003. Most of us will get it.
1) We applied through CSS On May 18th, 2002
2) MSC recorded received application on May 24th, 2002
3) We got finger printed on June 8th in San Jose, CA
4) MSC received finger print report on June 17th, 2002
5) Received EAD Card on Sept. 9th, 2002
6) File transferred to San Jose CA Local Office for further processing on October 18th, 2002
7) Received interview call @ San Jose on Feb 2nd, 2003. Went for interview and was informed that we did not receive your file and we will reschedule your interview.
8) Got a reschedule interview call on June 4th, 2003. INS Lady officer was very nice and helpful. She told me at the beginning of my interview that I am going to take a decision on your case and will close your file. She verified my all information from 1981 to 1988 and inquired about my job detail till June 2003. The interview lasted for 1 Hr. She asked phone number of my 2 people who did affidavit for me. She told me she is going to verify your information with them and asked me wait in lobby for 15 minutes. She called me back after 20 minutes. She closed door and told me that I have taken decision. “ I AM APPROVING YOUR APPLICATION FOR A LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT OF UNITED STATEES.” You will get your green card in couple of months. She asked for my Passport and stamped it. PROCESSED FOR I-551. TEMPORARY EVIDENCE OF LAWFUL ADMISSION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE. VALID UNTILL JUNE 3RD 2004. I was waiting for these words for more than 20 years and was so happy and exited. I thanked God and INS officer and shook hand with her couple of times. She said, “You deserve this”
9) I am writing this in detail to make everybody feel that have patience and wait for couple of months and most of us (good citizen) is going to get green card through LIFE act. She did not ask me any citizenship questions.

Wednesday was the deadline for eligible immigrants to apply for an adjusted immigration status under the Legal Immigration Family Equity Act (LIFE) legislation. The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services said 412,000 people had applied by the end of April. The BCIS approved 300,000 applications and denied 61,000.
