Letters for EB1 application

Hi all,

I have questions re: letters of support.

1. My lawyer tells me that 6 letters are needed. Is it advisable to submit more, like 8-9 letter? What is a
good number?

2. Do the letters have to be from "American" writers? Does it matter if they are from Immigrants in US, who
are at elite institutions?

You have come to the right place.

I don't know about the first question. As for the second one, it doesn't matter. But IO will compare your credentials to them. If you are compareable or better, then it will be easy to convince him that you diserve EB1. If you are not good as your refrees then he'd say that you'd better be like them.

i submitted 8 letters with a lot of diversity amongst the references. couple from outside of US, others in US. mostly non american. i assume the most important point is that they should be top of their field (and perhaps your field) so their letters bears more importance. of course this only my opinion.
