Letter To Uscis For Not Register With Selective Service

Need help please,
I was told that along with my N400 I need to attach an affidavit letter explaining why I did not register with the selective service.
Does anybody has a sample letter?? Could you please post it.

How old were you when you got your GC?
 
I got my GC when I was 30, but I have been living in the US since I was 21.
I was never aware that I had to register with SS, I got the letter from the selective service indicating that I failed to register.

Please advice...
 
I was here under a temporary assylum status, I was told by the selective service that I needed to register.
Now I am on the need of attaching an affidavit letter to my N400 application.
Please if you have any sample letter please post it.

Take it easy. USCIS usually does you a favor and automatically registers you if you were under 26 when you get your GC(it happened to me). There is a statement in the I-485 where you give your consent to do this. Pretty cheeky but you are signing up for SS when you apply for GC and most people don't know this!
 
Unfortunately I was never registered by USCIS and I wasn't aware that I had to; this a brief summary of my legal status since I moved to the US:
Arrived on February 1992 - 21 years old - under Assylum status
Obtained GC on May 2001 - 30 years old - GC through E1

I am preparing my N400 and I'm on the need of attaching an affidavit letter along with the letter I received from Selective Service, the letter I received state that I had to register and I failed on doing it.

Please if you have any sample affidavit letter post it.
