Subject: Request for Immigration Petition for Alien Worker, Skilled Professional (I-140) application with receipt date {RD}

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to request your office's help in finding the status of my Immigration Petition for Alien Worker, Skilled Professional (I-140) applications, pending with USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services), Vermont Service Center for over 20 months.

I have mine I-140 applications filed at VSC since {RD}. Jun 2003(RD: 06/05/2003, ND: 06/09/2003) with Vermont Service Center, Saint Albans, VT. It is an employment based (EB-3) application.

According to the processing times published by USCIS, VSC is currently processing EB3 applications for Skilled Worker with RD ... Whereas our RD is {RD} , 20 months ahead of my filing date.

We received a request for evidence on.... and we replied and the website shows the updated status on .... [expand this para]

Further to that, we completed our 1st FP on {1st FP date}. However the online case status does reflect information about our 1st FP.

So far we have initiated {3} status queries through VCS and we have never received any response from USCIS. [This was true for us so I wrote]

The VCS phone enquiries have resulted in asking us to wait for 30-60 days since October 2004.

This been said, I do not know if there's some kind of center error that is causing the delay/backlog in my I-140 applications.

I understand that VSC processes thousands of applications every day and processing times could vary case by case. However, as our cases are backlogged and as I have failed to receive any clear communication from USCIS, I would like to present this fax request to review our applications and expedite the adjudication of our cases.

I would also appreciate if you could suggest an estimated processing time for the adjudication of our applications in your reply. [This statement is important]

Here is my contact information for any further communication -
Name
Address
Phone
Email
Fax

And here are our case details -

[In table format]

Applicant Name
A#
Type of application - I-140[EB3]
RD

Receipt Number

Thank you very much for reading this request and hoping to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
{Your Name}

Did you check the address VSC has for you application?

The last statemennt kind of says it all.

Also, whenever you write to the officials try to have your grammar checked.

Good Luck.

Hi michaelfe,

My address is correct, I got my 2nd and 3rd Ead on same address.

For Grammer mistake, same thing applies to you buddy...

The attempt was not to humiliate you, but rather make your letter look like it was written by a professional.

Sanjy,
You are trying to get the status for so long. I think you are doing right thing by writing directly. I would say, if they do not answer then keep mailing the same letter again and again until you get an answer.

By the way, there is no need to get upset with michaelfe comments. michaelfe was just trying to help you.

My 2 Cents

Also Ask your company lawyer to send similar inquiry. That might help.

All the best! Hopefuly they clear your 140 soon...

Any information about I-140 goes to the employer and attorney.

Did your employer changed the address and didn't inform INS ?

Same thing happened in my case too. Talk to your employer and ask him/her to update the address if the address has been changed.
