Letter of Experience

Dear friends:

I'm in the process of concurrent filing (I140/I485/EAD/AP).
I will be applying as EB2 (BS +5 years of experience)

One of items requested is a "Experience Verfication letter" from my former employer.

My lawyer has requested me to get a (already drafted) experience verification letter signed off from my former employer

The issue is:

Human Resources Department of the former company will not sign off on the letter drafted by my attorney. As a policy, they will only give generic letter mentioning:

1. I was employed worked from xx/xx/xxxx to xx/xx/xxxx.
2. Earned xxx amount of salary.
3. I worked as xxx.

However, my ex-colleauges at the former company are willing to vouch for my work experience on their personal letterhead.

My questions are:

1. Will this suffice for I-140 work experience verification?
2. Will letters from my former colleagues have to notarized?
3. What sort of Affidavit, if any, be needed?

Has anyone experienced similar situation?
Can someone advise?

Thanks in advance.

It would be best if you can get a letter on your previous employer's letterhead signed by your manager or any other senior employee who can vouch for your experience. If not, get a general letter as indicated by you signed by someone in HR and have another ex-employee write the detailed letter. This combination should be fine.

Letter from co-worker

The letter provided by your Ex-employer seem to be good enuf.

A letter from your colleague in the company letter head would also suffice.

I would suggest EB3 as it is faster and heard EB2's undergo more scrutiny (hear say!) especially if you are an under grad!
