Is it necessary to send in the Status Information letter from Selective Service along with N-400? or is it ok, if one has it ready by the time of interview?

Srini - You can take the SS status letter with you to the interview. You do not need to send it with the N400 application. Most often they don't even bother to look at it during the interview either, but it is good to have it just in case...(the status letter is also useful if you apply for any federal govt. jobs/benefits going forward).
