Letter from NYC

I applied for PR in March 2003. I got IA in FEB 2004. They said that I need an interview and the letter mentioned that my file will be transferred to NY. In April I got a letter saying that my file was transferred to New york. Since then I have been waiting.

Today I got a letter from NY asking me to submit the following:
1) Proceed Immediately with the medical exam for both of us
2) FBI clearance certificates
3) Bank statements for the last 6 months
4) Right of Permanent resident fee.

Now my question is: What does that mean?
- Does that mean that they waived my interview ?
- Or does that mean that even after submitting the above documents, there is still a possibility of calling for an interview?

Guys, If you have any idea about what that means, please share it with me. I will really appreciate that.

Hi Soo tired

From this your second assessment It appears that your interview has been waived...it is unlikely that you would still get an interview call at this point...

When I compare mine to your time line it appears that the queue would soon come to my application..my initial assesment was November 2003 and my actual transfer to New York April 19th.2004

Can you share exact dates for your transfer to New york in April and for this new letter in October?

Good luck

Jahmal..

the moment they ask you for the landing fee, it means you are approved (provided ur FBI clearance, med records etc get cleared too)

I Wish thats true!

Thanks for the warming words Jahmal and Priya...If that is true, I will dance in the rain :) :)

Jahmal- I applied in March 2003 and got my IA on Feb 19th 2004. They said that interview is required and that they will transfer my file to NY. I got another letter on Apr 12th 2004 that my file is transferred to NY. Since then am waiting. And now on Oct' 15th 2004 I got that letter asking for Med's, FBI, ROLF and bank statements.

BTW do you know which doctor is best in NY for meds? I am looking for someone who charge reasonable and send them back to Ottawa pretty soon. I checked with Dr Wong Man-Chui...they charge $170/head.

Thanks

Thanks soo tired..

when I compare both our time lines I cannot help but wonder how the interview queue works..but I am guessing that I should be be in line for a decision soon..

I am sure that all of the doctors that made it to the CIC designated list must be proficient..so your best bet is to call around and see what price is best/which doc is closest to you..

I plan to do my medical in the Caribbean next week

thanks..New York already has my finger print results..and i did my medicals a month ago..all I can still do is pay the fee..then wait again for passport request..

cool

Thats cool. Quick question, how long did it take for you to get FBI cards back from FBI? I sent mine on Oct 17th and waiting for them now. Please let me know. Thanks.

I applied from Canada while on student visa..I only needed RCMP check which took just under 4 months to complete..

Sorry I never lived in USA so I have no information on the FBI process

My case is similar too and a question

My case is similar to u guys. applied in Jan. 2003, was adivsed by Buffloo office that they will transfer my file to NYC for interview. Then in April 2004, file transferred, had a baby then, sent his paperwork to NYC. NYC then advised me to do our medicals immediately, then for 3/4 months, nothing at all, now few days ago, i.e. end of Nov. 2004, got a letter for bank statement, lastest FBI clearance, pay stubs, last 3 year w2 etc.(already paid them ROLF).

it seems like that like u guys, my interview is also waived, but what is the point of transferring the file to NYC in the first place?
Now waiting for my FBI clearance. as soon as i get it, will send it with the rest of docs.

now a question.
I married after getting US GC. so my wife is still in pakistan, never been to US. On canadian application, i mentioned clearly my wife's address in pakistan and her everything was in pakistan(all docs, everything, no mention of USA at all, even her address was mentioned in Pakistan). Now NYC has asked my wife's and mine original clearnace from FBI.
I will just inform them that my wife never lived in USA, so this is not applicable.
what do u guys think about it?

canadian immigration process getting too long

I remember my friends' canadian application experience few years back. was very quick. Now it is taking them very long to process the cases. Specially transfering the file to NYC and then waiving the interview. what is this?

couple of years are too much ...

My US GC experience was very pleasant. labor in around 2 months, I-140 only month and a half. Only I-485 took little longer, but apart from a last inquiry about tax docs, and a very small inquiry about job description, nothing at all.

This canadian is just keep on going and going ...

I just recieved a second letter from New York..a second request for submission of ROLF and medical, a different letter dated 3 weeks after the first..

Is it normal for NEW York to request the same info so soon after an initial request ...I was given 90 days to submit the required documents so why should they send a reminder in 21 days..

I already made my submission and I tracked my info by fedex and it was recieved a day before the date of this new letter

What course of action should I take, if any?
