Letter from ESC..Unemployment

Friends,

Hi everybody !!

Upto 3 weeks back,I worked for one employer and lost job due to
technical performance issues.That is also for 4 weeks.
Upto entered into this job,I used to file for unemployment benifits
online from home.After I lost this job,I thought like this employer is not under base period thru which I am getting benifits.so,I am eligible for benifits.Then I started filing once again and got 3 weeks benifits.Yesterday,I got letter from ESC with title.."employer reason is different for lost the job" and asked to come to office.

I am in very tension.Shall I did any mistake..?
even If I worked for this employer for 4 weeks and he is not under base period, I am not eligible for benifits..?
If I did mistake,which kind of action ESC takes..? I need to pay whole amount back..?
I am busy with interviews.If I am not able to go to ESC,how can I handle this situation...? please post some info.Thanx...

That is what happened for me. I fired from job after worked for 3 weeks.Then I thought like this employer is not under base period
thru which I am getting benifits now and continued for filing online
for benifits as I did before entered into this job.After 2 to 3 weeks now, I got letter from ESC with title,'employer reason is different'.
so,how ESC reacts about my situation..?
Shall I need to pay any penalty..?
It is just happened because of my less awareness of rules.
If u can,please try to post some more info.Thanx....
 
From what I understand, you would not be eligible to receive unemployment if you were fired from work.
 
Hi JoeF,

If someone gets fired, then doesn't that mean that s/he was fired for cause? Being laid off is not the same as being fired.
