Guys,

I had contacted Congressman Honda regarding the delay in my I 485 application.

I got a letter from their office asking for my EMPLOYER to sign a privacy release form?

Should I be the one filling up that form and signing it or would i be the employer?

I'm confused? I called their office and they insist that it be the emploeyr since employer is sponsoring the greencard.

I don't want to go down to HR to get all this. Its going to be a big mess... What did you folks who used congressman Honda or Feinstien's help do?

In my understanding, your representative doesn't need your employer's signature to handle your I-485 issue.
You had better mention that I-140 for your employment has been already approved.

Possible advantage?

If it's not a problem for your manager, I would go ahead and have them sign it... I did my own with Feinstein, Boxer, and Pelosi, but unless you have a concern about having your employer help you out, I can't see that it's so bad... one way it could help you is if you can also get that person to sign it to be a US citizen. I think that bringing in a voter is always a good idea... in other words I'm suggesting that if you can you turn an annoyance into an advantage. Find a kind person who can sign for the company, tell them that you're doing this to help them get you to a place where you don't cost them more in terms of finance and all the endless problems with dealing with the INS, and then ask them whether they can sign and explain who they are (including their nationality, and that they work for a US based, headquartered etc... company). All that stuff will just help Honda decide to help you if you do it with subtlety...
