Hello Guys,

As I stated here before that my wife did not get her PR card, my friend in Canada received a letter today, that we need to Attend the photo retake appointment OR Provide a photo meeting the specifications outlined in the attached document.

In have used AVR comming into US. When I landed in sept 06 the Canadian Immg put a stamp(entry) in our passports, while comming back to US, the American Immg did not put any stamp in our passports.

Now if we go to canada for the PR, What should I tell the Canadain Immg guys? and also Should I ask them to put a entry stamp in our passports because while comming back to US there will be no proof that we are using 30 days rule.

Very much confused what to do?

Could any one please help me.

Thanks

-- Need not have to explain since you are a PR. But if asked, you can say that are coming back "home" to look for an apt or to look for a job - which I think are valid reasons.

and also Should I ask them to put a entry stamp in our passports because while comming back to US there will be no proof that we are using 30 days rule.

-- Sure..

Thanks for the reply Bigboy!

We are planning to go to Canada in Dec 2nd week for the photo session.
Can my wife fly OR she only can travel by road OR she needs a visa??? She has COPR and they strike the one time visa in the passport when we landed in sept 06.

Inputs please.

Thanks

Only travel by road. Airline will not let her board without PR card or valid visa. Even by road she will have to go in own car or rental car or taxi. Greyhound and Amtrack wont let her board.
At least thats the rule.

Yes, "texancanadian" is correct..

Thanks you guys!

One more question, We will be going in our own car with US Licence plate, Will the Canadian immg officer say anything about this? Because if the officer ask us (we will say that we went to US for vacation a week ago and comming back home now). We will be comming back to US using AVR once the photo session is done.

I am little worried how to tackle this at the bordor.

-- Your US plates won't be an issue..

-- You might be questioned thorougly if they discover that you are in fact living in the USA and not vacationing. There is nothing wrong in giving the reasons I mentioned earlier (that you are looking for a job/apt.) That way they cannot say that you are hiding the facts (if you are doing so).
