Hi all,

I 140 waiting is a pain in a... for everybody. But we could do something, atleast we can give a try!

Some where in another thread "Sumanta" suggested to take one day off and go to INS. But people live in different part and busy with their own business, so this idea IS NOT pragamtic. From postings in different thread, I guess no one wants to participate in such thing.

Let's think about some practical option.

Another good option is to hire a good attorney who can stand aganist INS. If all of us contribute a little $$, and hire an attorney ( Rajiv Khanna is an option [ his recent good work aganist SSA] but there could be even better out there ), we may get a positive outcome. There are 1000s I 140 waiters, even if all of us contirbute a little, the amount will be enough for legal fee!

But important question is how we proceed from here? How we arrange this ? How to organize ? Who is going to take an inicative?

Let's not only talk here. Let's try to do something. This is not problem of immigrants of any particluar country or any particular region.

I know it is very hard to do, but atleast we can discuss to find out efficent way and practical approch. Please discuss and try to put your opinion. You guys may have better idea than this or smart approch.

Let's discuss!!!!!

My 2 cents worth

From my short experience with all the brickbats and
bashing, here's my 2 cents worth :

1) Going to INS and taking to street protest is not something
I ever intended. However, our best bet is a thousand or
more of us, jointly submitting a peition to the US
President and the head of INS, in full media glare. Yes, an
appointment is necessary and a petition needs to be
drafted.

2) I am all for even suggesting that each applicant is ready
to shell out $1000 / $2000 per applicant towards
donation to INS for improvement of services, upgrades,
provided it gurantees all legal I-140 & I-485 decisions
within a reasonable ( 3 mths..4 mths ..? ) time period.

Can you believe the huge postive impact this can make.....we
applicants trying to monetarily improve INS ?

I feel that should be part of the petition.

3) I have nothing against a nation per se. But let's be
realistic. The bulk of the affected mass is people from one
country, India. And the huge bulk of that bulk is so
spineless, scared and coward that forget a protest, they
don't even have the balls to collect in a big number ( eg. 1000 )
and do this much.

4) Without this kind of collective activism, our I-140's and
I-485's are as good as doomed. You will see one/two
application approvals trickling in, but by and large, the
turn around time is going to be anything from 2-3 years...!
Yes , that's my candid estimate...without being insanely
hopeful !!!

To Webmaster!

Can you merge this thread with.
" Got to do something" , "
Guys...How many of you game to protest ?"

The motive of all of these treads is same. It would avoid confusion. This is very serious discussion.

Thanks

Abhaya....people have hard feelings about me

Abhaya, don't do that.

You know what,.... I really wanna to get something done....
wanna have people participate heavily..just have the feeling
that there are many out there who are mad at me for being
morbidly plainspeaking and truthful. After all its never
nice to call a "lame" a "lame"..and that's what I do...that's
what I have done.

So don't merge with my thread.. it might hinder participation...
Let's create a new one from scratch...i wanted to propose the
following template there :

Your Name :

Address:

Tel Contact : ( Work , Home & Cell ) :

Company Name & Designation :

When did your LC start and end ( if applicable ) :

When did you apply for I-140:

What's your EB category :

Which INS Service Center :

When did you apply for I-485 :

FP status :

EAD status :

AP status:

Would you be willing to visit Wash DC ( one day ) to
submit agreed upon petition :

Would u contribute to petition text :

Can you work to enlist participation from other similar
people u know who don't visit this web site :

Are you ready to contribute money ( $1000/$2000 )
towards improvement of INS services :

Are u ready to contribute money towards attorney fees:

Would you be willing to participate in any effort even if
your I-140/I-485 comes through ( in the interest of
people like u who go through the same rot ) :

I agree with Sumanta. Start a brand new thread with a relevant post subject and should be meant only for collecting info.

Athonu

hi sumanta

I am with you in this, and agree all the bullets. I think this may bring shome change atleast.

Is Personal Information Necessary ???

Friends,

Personally, I feel the idea of porposing to contribute $$ to Expedite the process with INS is a good one.

I think we need to Hire an attorney to advise on the realistic way to get the job done. I am not sure the "Vanara Sena" effect on INS is a good idea, neither does media glare in the present time (unemployment rate 6.0%) is goinf to be favorable to us.

We can have an attorney represent us in putting down a petition offering an additional fee for quick review of cases (similar to H-1).

I have concern about asking for personal ifnormation about cases. Many would like to do without providing minute details lest INS shower greater scrutiny. It is just a thought.

You can put down my name for $$ 2000 is no pain for many if it helps them get the process done quickly....Dont mind more myself.

Let it roll.....

Why dont we ask Mr. Rajeev Khanna. I guess we have to write an email to him to visit this thread and get his feedback.
