I filed FOIPA requests for both myself and my wife since our I485's are stuck in name check. My wife's was returned yesterday after a couple of weeks together with a blank form (mine not yet). On the blank form, the sentence "A legible and original signatur is required" is highlighted. Since the returned copy was actually mailed with original signature, I assume it might be that my wife's signature is not legible? But what is a legible signature, aren't people using all kinds of handwriting for their signatures? Usually it is difficult to figure out the letters from somebody's signature, right? Please share if you have experience with this. Thanks a lot.
PS. As it says original signature is required, they will not accept faxed request either.
