This law is not new. GC does not give you a right to live in US under ALL circumstances. If you commit a serious crime, your GC can be revoked and you can be deported. It is as simple as that.
I don't think traffic violations can cause any problems but hit-and-run cases that result in injury/deaths might be considered serious crimes.
