Leaving the US after application - Please help

Hello,
I would really appreciate some input about my case.
I will have completed 5 years on my greencard in August. That means I can apply for citizenship 90 days prior in May. But the problem is that my husband's US company is sending us on a 2 year assignment to Singapore. We have to leave in March. Can I still apply for citizenship in May? I can get everything ready and ask someone in the US to mail it for me in May. Will it be a problem that I will not the in the country at the time of application? I will still have met all requirements for continuous residence by the time of application. I intend to keep coming back to the US as required to maintain residence.
Please advise on the best course of action.
Thanks!

You have to be in your residing in your DO for the three months prior to applying. It seems that you may fail that requirement. Other than that, however, I don't see any problem especially if the application process in your district is less than nine months (and assuming you come in for the FP, interview, oath etc.)

Also, notice that the pgotocopy must be from 30 days prior to application - If the interviewing officer want to give you a hard time - you will be in trouble...

You may want to consider flying back and forth a number of times to overcome these problems (or at least be away from your husband for a number of months at a time).

Good luck, Yalag
