Leaving after applying for re-entry permit, return for biometrics?

Hi,

We are residents of canada and received our US green cards last year in 2010. We activated it by entering the US from the closest border. Looks like we wont be moving to US this year , hence need to apply for re-entry permit.

question is can we apply for re-entry permit and come back to canada, return to US whenever our biometrics appointment is scheduled?

Also, anyone knows what is needed to expedite the application?

First of, I apologize that I do not have the answer to your question.

I am in the exact boat as you and weighing my options to drive in, drop off the application, and then come be back to Canada. And then Fly/Drive back down again for Fingerprinting.

I have been monitoring this thread for quite a few days but unfortunately haven't received any response from the experts.

If you do have any additional information on the matter, please let me know.
