If I have to leave current company due to comapny temporary financial reason, can my company still keep my green card process going and let me come back to join company again in the future?
 
Yes... You/Your employer should claim that the current GC process would be for "FUTURE EMPLOYMENT".
 
Well, all GC processes are for 'future employment', so company doesn't have to do anything. And yes, your process can continue without any hassles. I am in the same situation, and am doing exactly the same thing after consulting with my attorney (not company's).
