Leadtime between notice and actual interview

Dear members,

I filed my N400 as of 09/12/05. Got my PD as of 09/15/05. Was fingerprinted as of 11/04/05. Now I am waiting for the interview.

I have a quick question:
I need to travel overseas for a couple of weeks and I don't want to miss my interview date. Could you tell me how long is the time between the interview notice and the actual interview?

Thanks in advance.

it is very different from case to case. i would say in average, it is about 1-2 months leadtime between the interview notice and the actual interview day.

make sure you have someone to check mail for you while you are gone.

I would suggest that you mention the fact that you need to travel, during your interview. The USCIS officer maybe able to get you earlier oath ceremony.

I don't know it this will help(because I'm in new york) but I just received my interview date today.
I applied end of october, got my fingerprinting for dec1st and and just received my interview date today, dec 12th - for beginning of march.

it seemed very quick to me. i'd say make sure somebody checks the mailbox.
good luck!

Hey Simten.
where in Ny are you.? and is ur interview in garden city office OR federal plaza?
ur timeline is very very fast for new york. in 2 months u have interview date in ur hand. WoW

Thank you all for your replies.
I am gone just for a couple of weeks (3 max), so I guess I should be fine.
I also put my mail on hold at the post office to avoid risks.
Thanks

If I were you, I would have a friend to check my mailbox twice a week. what if you got an oath letter during the weeks when you are gone for vacation?

at least, if you had a friend to check your mail for you, you could make the last minute travel arrangement to return back to US.

Anyhow, it is your choice.
