LC Substitution

I am on H1 with one company and found another company which is ready to provide LC substitution. If I apply I140 and I485 through this different company, do I need to join that company in the future. I mean, do I need to be on the pay roll of this new company as per the INS law. or else can I continue with my current company and get the GC from other company?

You are not required by immigration law but process will be comparatively easy if you work for the employer who is sponsering your GC petition.
