Hi,
I am a well qualified software and computer science engineer (with MS from US and 4+ yrs experince). I want to quit my current employer A and looking for a new job.
Problem is: A is filing for I-485 for me this month (I140 approved in EB2 with 2004 PD). I dont want to lose this opportunity to get my green card, but I can not hold out any longer at A. Any good options?
(I know i could use ac21 after 180 days, but that is too long a time for me).
What if i get lucky and get I485 approved within 2-3 months ( I heard it is really quick these days), then how long will i need to stick at A before leaving?
I heard I could port my PD to a new employer. If I decide to leave A ritenow and join a new employer, can I count on porting of PD considering my I140 is approved using a substitute labor cert and they are eliminating sub labor certs now? Even with that I will need to apply for labor cert afresh at new emplyer. Any idea how much time it takes under PERM to get approved?
