Lay Off's Effecting PERM Processing

I work in company X. Three weeks ago my company started the process of filing my PERM. My company just laid off some employees and this layoff effected my team members as well. Now my company Lawyer is suggesting us not to continue with the PERM process because of danger of AUDIT. I had a few questions related to the same
1.> The employees who were Laid-Off were not having the same skills and qualification as mentioned in my Labor Certificate ??
2.> Even if my case is picked for Audit, can the company at this point withdraw my case ??
