Lawyer's Role for I-130 NVC Processing

Hello -

I am trying to hire a lawyer to assist me with I-130 processing during the NVC stage.

If I hire a lawyer, would I still be able to complete all the online forms (for ie. DS-261, DS-260) myself and submit all the supporting documents? I would also like to have the ability to call NVC regarding my case. Can I do this if I have an attorney of record. Or would he/she be the only point of contact to the various agencies.

I am primarily seeking a lawyer to look over my documents and to assist with interview preparation.

Thanks much,
SS

People hire lawyers so that for the big bucks they charge, they will do all the shitty work. I hate to say this but are you stupid or what. Why would you do all the work yourself but pay an attorney?

In my opinion, if you are smart enough to fill the forms (they really are simple), then, you don't need a lawyer. If you have questions, try Google and then these forums. And then the money you saved, well, save it.

BTW, when a lawyer takes on the project, a lot of the documents from the USCIS will be sent to them and occasionally you will receive copies, but if you want to run the process, just do it yourself.
