The outside law firm that my company hired - They add a fat layer of red tape, slow everything down, make costly mistakes that I pay for, they're out of office half the time, sick the other half, won't talk to us unless they can bill us, don't inform me when applications get approved, don't advice me on the next steps and get irritated when I ask them for advice. :mad:

No wonder we all come here to these forums to find out what's happening - even those of us who have lawyers.

Kudos to Rajiv Khanna for running this website.
 
Ask me about my frustrations about Lawyer. They never return calls- reply mails. To get hold of Lawyer's secretary. I have to call 3 times a day. She would be out for lunch or in meeting :(
 
so called big law firm dealing with Green Cards and the name often discussed in our forum screwed me so badly that, i had to file twice for my spouse case and the documentation process for filing my I-485 they took nearly 6 months .I

This forum run by Rajiv khanna is so great and useful and i am aware of so many things which so called parlegal not worth a penny.
 
It's the system, stupid! :-)

It's the system thats breeds these fat cat lawyers. Firstly, you are not in control of your immigration application. You are, for all practical purposes a hostage of the company that is sponsoring it. Secondly, the lawyer is hired by the company, therefore is not answerable to you. And for reasons that you might well guess, the company is in no big hurry to get your process over with. Thirdly, legal immigration should be straightforward in most regular cases and should not require the expensive services of an attorney. The system can be made more efficient - look at employment based immigration schemes of other developed countries like UK or Canada that are based on a points system. But I doubt that will ever happen. Majority of the politicians that make legislation are lawyers by profession. Attorney general->Governor->President. You know how it goes. Forget about immigration which affects only a small percentage of residents of this country - the newcomers. The weight of the American legal system is making basic healthcare inaccessible to the common man because of malpractice insurance costs that have to be borne by the health care system.

So if you can't beat them, join them ;-). Join law school today ;-)

Some times more liberty means abuse.
every one can express, sue for their rights means more chaos and expensive welfare systems like HealthCare, Immigration,Medicare etc
Hey we just had a trial lawyer run for Vice president
got to accept and move one
