Hi! This is my first post.

Does anyone have any experience with using a lawyer when applying for a spouse based green card? Is it easier, more successful?

It depends on your case. Usually people on this forum don't use a lawyer, saving also a lot of money. As per my knowledge is not easier nor successful. But as I said before , it's up to you and your case.

This Forum has more info than the Lawyer some times and alot of the info posted here comes from peoples info gathered from a lawyer so just keep reading and searching here you will be fine unless your case has a unique twist to it or just cant seem to find the answer then seek counsel, i presented all of my documents to a high priced lawyer in Boca Raton, Florida they saw that I had a I-129F approval, and asked why i did not mail in my I-130 and that i need to Re-do everything and he would help me for $3000.00 re submit everything, turns out
i didnt need I-130 because they are both petitions.

That is true. You will learn more from these forums than the lawyer would know. I believe it is waste of money if your case is normal. Even if you do get a lawyer, there isn't much he can do during the interview except advising you on your legal rights, which are pretty much- None.

If you do decide to hire a lowyer, make sure not to sign G-28. Because by doing that, your lawyer will receive all the info from USCIC. And if there is any problem come up between u and your lawyer, then it is very dificult to expalain this to uscis. My lawyer refused to give any info he received from uscis, due to this problem my case has been pending over 30 months and I just got my fingerprint done. My advise to you, do not give %100 autorisation to your lawyer.
