Lawyer fees?

Hi there. Would anyone care to share their experience re: retaining lawyers and costs involved for:

(Note these are in USD)

1) TN "Visa"
I think I'm in pretty good shape with documentation and knowledge with the TN, but I would like to have an experienced lawyer take a peek to verify that I haven't missed anything (the job title vs appropriate degree and experience might be a stretch in the eyes of the "powers that be"!)

- Lawyer "A" quoted me $750-1000
- Lawyer "B" quoted $1200

2) H1B

- Lawyer "A" quoted $2500 (!!!) + processing fees said that by law the processing fees had to be paid by employer (said they would run around $2190 - is this true?!)
- Lawyer "B" quoted me $1200 + processing fees

Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

These quotes are definately in the ballpark. For H1B, the total cost can easily be $5000.

H1 B Lawyers fees should be between $ 1,000 to $ 1,500.

The processing fees are as follows:

$ 190 I-129 Processing Fee.
$ 750 Processing Fee if there are less than 25 employees
$ 1,500 Processing Fee if there are more than 25 employees.

$ 500 Fraud detection fee (Don't be alarmed by the name of it - it's just the name of a fund that the money goes into) This need to be a separate cheque from the others.

The cheques need to be made out by the company and not you. You could always just reimburse the company if they don't want to pay them.

Why a alwyer for the TN?
