Lawsuit has been filed!

140_takes_4ever

I was wondering if we can somehow get the attention of NEWS MEDIA in this Law Suit. Do you have any suggestions. Does anyone know how to contact these news media guys.

Hope it doesn't pull too much resources off regular processing into the lawsuit. Or even worse, put the whole thing onhold to create a new law...

BTW, don't bother contact news media. The public hate us, be it fair or not.

We should not try to reach the likes of CNN/NBC right now. The best approach would be to approach the smaller agencies and try spreading this news. Also all immigration portals should flash this news on their webpages atleast.

Would the likes of Sheila Murthy stepup?

We can start by sending the PDF to pro-immigrant organization to display on their billboard. (Many would not do that as it doesn't benefit them and would cause Rajiv Kanna, their professional competitor getting the limelight at their expense :) )

All:

although this is good news but the lawsuit might benefit ONLY 485 applicants.. it does not seem like it will benefit I140 applicants.

Seems like it will benefit only I-485 applications if anyone takes a note of it, but still we should support it. We should also do something similar for I-140.

I think I-140 will be automatically benefitted by this. If the premise of the lawsuit that AOS should be adjudicated in 6 months is true and if you filed concurrently, 140 will have to be cleared prior to AOS being adjuicated - and hence move quickly.

LOL! :) Sorry to laugh but this is exactly the mentality that keeps the backlogs going, no one wants to fight back because they are scared of the repercussions. Hey this is America people and it is your right to FIGHT!

And just to allay your fears! The lawsuit is fought in court and not on military grounds! So the fighting will be done by lawyers and not IIO's so your precious case won't get affected by this issue.

We have already discussed this with Rajiv, and he was of the opinion that he din't want too many lawyers spoiling the broth, if they want to support him then that is fine, but the strategy of what to do and how to do will be and should be his and his alone.

Dude! YOU ARE THE BENEFICIARY TO THE LAWSUIT! You cannot get your green card without getting your 485 approved. If fact current 140 waiters are those who will benefit the most from this lawsuit, since the backlogs promise to be over 4 years for you AFTER your 140 approval.

Besides as compuser1973 mentioned, if 485 has to be approved within 6 months of filing, 140 has to be approved prior to that. Hence it is a win win situation for you.

Well, is it professional ego that is preventing Rajiv from asking for support? This lawsuit, I presume, was filed in the general interest of the USCIS victims. If so be the case, why doesn't Rajiv ask for every lawyers support. If this lawsuit is to proclaim who the leader is? I have no words!

I for sure appreciate Rajiv for taking an initiative, but he should not shy away from asking for support of his competitors. And since this is a class action suit, other lawyers can add more cases to support the objective.

Why do we bring some one else name here?
It is not professional ego. He is doing it let him handle in his own way. Just try to follow the leader people will join.
Every one knows this problem. Every one competent but no one took lead. This petition was sent to many famous attorneys and congress members.
We get this space for our discussions by courtesy of Rajeev. That means he cannot go and every attorney to do that.

No offense. Sending petition is one thing and asking for support is another. It is just that we work in individual groups that the case goes unnoticed. We need to use a collective cohersive force to show the strength.

I had mentioned in the earlier post that Rajiv's effort are appreciated. But just that we need more limelight and more support. And asking for support is not a bad thing.

I never deny that Rajiv is courteous enough to provide this space for healthy discussions, but it is dual intend. Both the users and Rajiv benefit fom this portal.

Hope you understand my view.

lighten up guys. it is not important what benefits Rajiv gets or we get. the important thing now is what u can do to make this litigation known to important persons. lets now end up discussing on issues of benefits. Fight always starts with one person and rajiv has all of our backing and support. i guess we should start concentrating on issues of how to bring it to limelight. i think we guys should move to the thread where action and further progress is taken and put forward as much as info as possible.

Agreed vicky_usa.

Better to focus our thought and action for more constructive isues. We'll put this to rest and concentrate on other issues.

My posts are in no way intended to hurt the feelings of anyone.

Wish you all luck in the endeavor.

I have posted a hard copy of the PDF to 4 major publications and a couple of local ones. Let wait and see what happens.

C'mon all, it's action time:

1. Start chain emails with your friends, email the pdf to one and all.

2. Visit various immigration and lawyer's sites, email them the PDF.

3. Spread awareness by word of mouth.
