Latest RD processing in Chicago

Can anyone who has had a recent interview at Chicago Office update this area with RD and other related dates. I will really appreciate it.

Anyone?? I am curious since I have a September 2001 RD to seen if anyone has had interviews with more recent than Sep 2001 RD. Please share your dates?

I am still waiting... RD 08/03/2001

I was in INS office a week ago and showed them a document from November 27th (response to my status inquiry) on which it said that I should receive my appointment within 45 days. They told me that I was not sent appointment yet but they will inquire with supervisor, since more than 90 days have passed since the document.

However, while I was there I saw that currently they are processing April 2001 cases. Also I met a Canadian guy who filed in July and just had his interview a couple of weeks ago.

Anyone reading this who has filed in 2001 please post your timeline.

I heard from a June 2001 case that she is still waiting for even an interview call. I have submitted request for timeline on other boards as well.

Anyone with RD in 2001, can you please post your timeline here.

I talked to Jessie Jackson Jr.'s Immigration Aides. I was told that currently May 2001 cases are being processed. He said that the reason for so much delay for April 2001 cases was because of the fact that INS has received tons of cases in April 2001. He was hoping that INS would move a month for each month now.

Last time I was there (about a few weeks ago) the sign on 2nd floor said they were processing April 2001.

...Seems they have moved since then (juding from your conversation with Jessie Jackson aide).
 
This may seem silly to ask, but are you talking about I-485 processing at Chicago INS or another form (RD)?
 
RD: 8/26/02

Now that I know that we are talking about the same thing, I can give you my information. My I-485 application is based on marriage. My RD date is 8/26/02. I was FP and interviewed with my husband in December 2002. Since then I have heard nothing. I was told at the interview that they could not fully process my case that day due to increased security measures. Apparently, INS officers were not able to approve citizenship or PR cases as of November 20, 2002. I have not been able to get a definitive answer since February 2003 as to whether or not that status has changed. Any info you can provide would be of great assistance. Thanks :)
 
As far as I know there was a "freeze" on applications starting Nov. 2002 , and it had something to do with INS reconfirming fingerprints and records with FBI. However, from what I've heard that ended some time around mid-January this year. Maybe you should try to go in their office and inquire about your case.

Just as I was beginning to think that something was wrong....my approval letter came. My I-485 case was approved as of 4/8/03 through Chicago. My application was based on marriage and it took approximately 220 days from RD to approval letter. Thank you for your help and I wish you all the best of luck. Congratulations and thanks for the update. This gives me an idea of how long it will take in our case. My case is marriage based as well with RD of 9/13/2001 but have not been as lucky as you have been. Lets see what happens!

Can you tell me your interview date? We had our interview on December 18. We have not heard anything back so far. Your approval gives us hope that may be we are not far behind. We have been waiting for more than 800 days.
 
Now this is strange

As I was going through the paper work, I noticed that on the letter for EAD, BCIS (formerly INS) has th wrong zip code. I called the immigration 800 number and they have put in an inquiry on the case, although the first inquiry in December went in the air.

I also called Cong. Hyde's office who was not cooperative. All they wanted to say is that BCIS is currently processing March 2001 cases, and that is it. Doh!
