I just called to NSC ( thought maybe my case got lost? Since I had my fingerprints done more than 1,5 years ago). So, I talked to the immigration officer and he said that my case will be processed in this year starting from today to 10.01.2003. (FYI: I was tolled the same a year ago).
Prior to this call, I called to FBI to check on status of my fingerprints and they said that my fingerprints app already expired they keep it for 12 month only. I will be send a new one ( lucky me!).
I don’t even know what to think. Is it good or bad news?
Actually, this time it took me only 4 min to dial NSC number and I was on hold less then 2 min. This is good news!

It seems that these were good news. I wanted to ask you if that immigration officer has told you how far they will go into processing application this year, That is, did he tell you that they will stop at February 1st 1999 for this fiscal year? Or did he give you a different cut off date? thanks
 
I didn't ask and he didn't say anything how far they will go. I asked about my case only. And he said it will be worked this year.

What number did you dial, and at what time of the day. I tried to reach them many times, but never managed to get through..

hey alan I think the number Irina called was 4023237830... it will be busy at times but keep dialing u will get hooked eventually...Good luck

hi all, this is my second post, i am new to this NG, I already found it very helpfull, thanks to all of you.
here we go.
To get a hold of the INS by phone first lookup their business hours, let's say 8 am central, at 7:40 dial the number and you will get the automated system, keep browsing through it until 8 or to be sure 8:10, hit the option for operator or immigration officer.
it worked for me. some time i even tried 30 minutes before they open.
