Late Marriage Registration

Hi,
just have a quick question.
I m a US citizen, I got married in india in April 2009, and could not register the marriage that time as i had to get back to US because of some problem in family.
I went back to india to register the marriage in November 2009.
QQ : > Will there be any problem as I registered the marriage so late (after 7 months. )

Hi,

It should not be a problem, especially as the certificate mentions the original date of marriage and registration was done with in a few months.

In cases, when registration is done way after the marriage (or birth), say a few years, then an RFE may be sent out, in which case you get 2 affidavits of support about the marriage (or birth) date from people who attended the marriage. Your parents (for example, your father and her father) can do the affidavit.

However, in your case, I personally don't think you need the affidavits.
