Late FP appt means delayed processing?

I called the customer service center and they told me all the appts are gone for today. The current wait time is 42 days for appt at any center!!! To get an appt, I should call first thing tomorrow morning. I guess they would give me a appt atleast 42 days from today.

Two questions:
- If I get a late FP appt, would it hold up my case? Is 42 days too long to wait given the current processing for 485's?
- Is it possible to go to the ASC and get an earlier appt?

Answer 1) If you get a late FP that would not hold up your case ( only hold up instances for I-765 have been seen. See user couch details). NO, 42 days is not too long to wait given the current processing for 485's
Answer 2) Some people have been able to get walk-in FP in certain DO's. Browse the forum and you'll see such cases (though the success rate in getting early FP is very low)
