Just called through and was told they\'re processing 485 received by 2/1/01. Although my FP was done on 8/17/01 and FBI confirmed that they have forwarded the result to INS. For whatever reason, it\'s still not on my INS file yet. Is there anyone have the same situation here?

Not in file means what ??
Does it mean that it was not received by the INS,although it was send by the FBI.I understand that all the transfer is electronic.I had called up some time back after the FP (08/15) and was told by INS that they had received it on 08/16.For spouse,the FP was npt clear,so we had to redo it and called again and was informed that it was OK the second time.
Not in file lets me think that it has either some data missing or NOT RECEIVED.

Based on the update glitch of the AVM (case not found etc) and other technical snafus that we have all seen, is it possible that when they say that they do not have your FP in file, it is only because an IIO has not yet taken your case in hand and started processing it. Since the FBI has said that they sent it over to VSC, they obviously received it. Optimistically, may be when they open you file, the IIO will pull it up from some where they actually have these things. May be the AVM system (that the IIO who answered your call today used) is not properly updated.
