Landing the first time with own car, but not importing...

I believe this kind of questions was discussed many times, however, I can hardly find a clear answer.

I want to drive my own car for landing, since I will stay there for 2 months or so, rental car will be too much;

After 2 months, I'd like to go back to USA for 6-12months, and later permenantly move, so I don't want to import the car right now, (also the car is still on financing, so I will have the option either pay it off later or even sell it before my moving)

Any suggestion on this issue? experience, or many an Canadian official number to call to ask a question like this?

Thanks!

See if you can import it to Canada. Take it with you, & when u come back to US in a few months you wont have a problem with customs as you will be visiting US( i.e not a resident there) so you wouldnt have to import car. But dont register your car in Canada. I believe you can drive a few months without registering.

From what I know , if you land in your car you have to import it. I would suggest to land in rental car. You can rent one at the border for a day or two. After landing re-enter with your own car.
