Hi Guys,

I will be landing through Vancouver since I am in Seattle and will be coming back using AP. Did any one completed his landing process through Vancouver, how was the process? I have a couple of questions, which will be awesome if you guru's can answer?
1. Should I take my own car or should I rent a vehicle? Are there any problems in driving your own vehicle?
2. Do I have to take a money order or Cashiers check with me now?
3. Do I have to tell the immigration officer that I am going back to US?
4. I am from Pakistan so have to go through NSSER or whatever it is, will there be any problems (will really appreciate of someone has a experience)?
5. Do I have to use the Canadian customs form or an excel sheet is good enough?
6. Since I will be using AP should I surrender my I-94?
7. When I got my Visa I also recieved a couple of forms with it for self and family do I have to take some other documentation?

Thanks in advance!!!!

-- Are you importing your car to Canada? If not, better to take rental car.

2. Do I have to take a money order or Cashiers check with me now?

-- Its required to provide the money needed to Land in Canada. Cashier's Check is a good option.

3. Do I have to tell the immigration officer that I am going back to US?

-- If they ask only. You can say that you will move permanently within next two months or so.

4. I am from Pakistan so have to go through NSSER or whatever it is, will there be any problems (will really appreciate of someone has a experience)?

-- No problems but go for Special Registration before you leave US. Also on your way back, you need to go to the same office for SR.

5. Do I have to use the Canadian customs form or an excel sheet is good enough?

Take a printout of form B4 and B4A and put your stuff on it. It saves time.

6. Since I will be using AP should I surrender my I-94?

They don't ask for the I-94 and you don't give. You can come back to US using your I-94 only so why bother using AP? Its your choice.

7. When I got my Visa I also recieved a couple of forms with it for self and family do I have to take some other documentation?

Yes, These forms are REQUIRED and are actually your Landing papers. Take with you.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Canada is very particular about the picture on your forms. You ask the immigration officer to confirm that your pictures are good and clean. They can take another picture on the spot in case if they have any issues.

People sometimes are asked to come to local immigration office (in canada) after 4-5 weeks of landing to have another picture taken. You would not like to risk going back to Canada just for them to take your picture.

Good Luck.
