Landed Canada--couldnot use friend's address for PR card

My family landed in Canada by driving into Vancouver in a rental car in Feb 4th.The officer told us that we must use our own personal address to receive PR card. Since we have told the officer that we would stay Canada for only 3 days, we feel it's an obvious lie to tell her that we have our own address. Then the officer refuse to send the PR card to our friend's address. She gave us a paper which can eligible us to drive into Canada next time or otherwise if we want to take a flight, we have to apply for an entry visa from Canada consular in USA. Once we have our physical address, then we can fax a form to apply for a PR card.

From the form the officer has given us, we found we can do a online submission or by phone or fax the application. We tried to do online submission while in Vancouver. However our landing document No was not recognized in its online database. Not sure if it should take a while to have our record entered its database. We will try it later. Hope it will go through.

Anyone has the similar experience or advice?

According the officer, we should not use friend's address to apply for SIN too. However, we did that without any problem in local office of Vancouver.

Some information for those might be interested:
1. At the canada border, the officer didn't take our I94 card from the passport

2. Reenter USA was pretty easy. The officer told us that we should have mailed our old I94 to somewhere? ( I do not quite understand that that means). Anyway, he replaced our old I-94 with a new one. The whole process took about 20 min.
