Landed as an immigrant in Toronto in 1998 May

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there is anyway that I can revive my landed status or I have lost it for ever.

I claimed my immigration in May1998. I stayed for a week and got my SIN card and then left never to go back till date. I am in in USA.

Is there any way that I can revive my canadian landing status or do I ahve to apply all over agian if I am serious of going back to canada...????

you've lost your status.

if you are desperate, try driving in to Canada and apply for the PR card. If you are stopped at any time by an immigration official your case will be forwarded to an immigration committee for review and you will be afforded a one way visa to stand in front of the committee to defend your case.

Hi Atul,

I'm also in a similar kind of situation.I got my residency in May 2001 but I have stayed there for couple of months after getting residency.I will have to go to canada to get my H1 stamped sometime early next yr in 2005 and by that time the 3/5 yr rule for maintaining residency might make me ineligible.
