I'm currently on a H1B, and have been laidoff. My last date of employment will be 6th March 09. Considering the economic situation, I'm thinking about going on H4, and getting back on H4 later next year. Here are some details:
* I first stepped into the US in April 2004
* My current H1 stamping is valid till April 2010
* I still have 2 years left on my H1, taking into account the time I have been outside the US
Given these, here are my questions:
1. Can I get back on H1 later with another employer, even if my current employer sends a employment termination notice to USCIS?
2. If I go on H4 now, and decide to be get on H1 later next year, will I have to go through the H1 cap / quota?
2. Will my time on H4 count towards the 6 year counter OR will I stilll have 2 years left on my H1, when I decide to get back on it?
