Laid off and I-140 Pending

Folks,

I have been laid off and my I140 is pending. I am looking to do a H1B transfer when I find a new job. If I don't find a job within 3 weeks, I will go back to India.
Assuming that I find a new job, the question I have is is there any way I can salvage the I-140 or do I have to redo the entire process with my new employer? Will the I-140 petition be automatically cancelled?

any input will be greatly appreciated.

sadly u have to do the entire process again.. 140 is for the employer.. but with perm u will be able to get back in track soon.. but u will loose the priority date.. good luck
