laid off after Green Card...Should I take unemployment benefits ?

Got the Green Card earlier in the year.

Now that I am laid off Can I apply for un-employment benefits ?

How long does one get it ?

Is it that one gets for a ceratin amount of time in a life time or is it anytime you get it if you are laid off ?

The amount which one gets is decided on what factors ..Is it same for everyone ?

What are the repurcursion of taking un-employment benefits ?

One of my friend's friend applied for Unemployement benefits and his GC has been revoked. My friend doesn't know how long he worked for that company after GC (This is my friend's statement). I dont know anyone personally who has done this.

So please confirm this before applying for unemployment benefits.
